ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR ASSISTANCE:

• Must be for a child, 4-18 years of age, who is currently enrolled in SNAP, Medicaid, WIC, or Foster Care system.
• Must be registering for participation in a recreation-level sport hosted by a youth sports organization or school.
• Must be registering for an upcoming sport season.

The Learn to Play Hockey program is a USA Hockey Cross-Ice Instructional program. All of our teaching and lesson plan materials are based on USA Hockey's American Development Model (ADM). This program is designed to be the natural progression toward youth recreational leagues. 

If you never skated before, that's ok, but we do recommend enrolling in the Learn to Skate Program (Courses: Basic 1, Hockey 1-2)! This way, your child will be able to focus on the fundamentals of being a good skater before having to expand on their skating skillset while also learning hockey applications. Click here to learn more. 

If you feel that your child's skating abilities are sufficient to start the Learn to Play program, email hockeydirector@brazosvalleyhockey.org to schedule an evaluation for placement.

For $250, you get 6 one hour ice lessons and new equipment from head to toe. This equipment is your child's to keep. The equipment package includes; a helmet with cage, shoulder pads, elbow pads, hockey pants, shin guards, hockey skates, a hockey stick, jersey, socks and an equipment bag.

2023-2024 Season:

Session 1: August 22-October 5 CLOSED

Session 2:  October 10- November 16 CLOSED

Session 3: January 9- February 15 CLOSED

Session 4: February 20- April 4 CLOSED

Once a Week:  (1hour a week for 6 weeks)- Choose from either Tuesday or Thursday- $250- Includes Cost of Jersey.

Twice a Week: (2 hours a week for 6 weeks)- Tuesday and Thursday- $375 Total- Includes Cost of Jersey

• Tuesday 5:45-6:45p and Thursday 5:45-6:45pm

2. USA Hockey Membership is required (good for 1 year)
